Where is the beach located within Rushden Lakes?

The beach is located in the centre of the park.

How long is the beach at Rushden?

Until Monday 31st August.

What are the beach opening times?

10:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday and Sundays, and 10:00am to 8:00pm on Saturdays (weather permitting).

How many children can play at one time?

Up to 30 children on each beach at any one time.

Are there any age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions; however, children must be supervised by a responsible adult.

Is the beach supervised?

There are no staff supervising the beach. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their own children at all times.

Can I sit and enjoy an ice cream or drink on the beach?

Food and drink is not permitted on the beach to ensure the sand remains safe for play. If the sand becomes contaminated, we will close the beach to visitors for cleaning. Please eat outside of the beach area and use the bins provided to dispose of your waste.

Do I need to book in advance?

No booking is required. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to capacity limits.

What happens if it rains?

The beach operates weather permitting. Severe weather conditions may result in temporary closure or reduced opening hours.

Are there toilets and baby-changing facilities nearby?

Yes, visitor toilets and baby-changing facilities are available within Rushden Lakes.

Can dogs enjoy the beach?

Dogs are welcome at Rushden Lakes, whilst on a lead, but pets are not permitted within the sand play area.

Is the beach wheelchair and pushchair accessible?

The surrounding event area is accessible, although movement on sand may be more difficult for some wheelchairs and pushchairs.
