You can take lakeside walks, visit The Nene Wetlands Visitor Centre, have fun in the family leisure areas and even hire a canoe out on the lake. Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre, the surrounding towns and villages, and the Nene Valley has something for everybody to enjoy.
Visit the Nene Wetlands Visitor Centre on the Boardwalk to find out more about the beautiful Nene Wetlands, and the ample ways to spend time exploring the great outdoors.
They are open 09:00am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am to 16:00pm Sunday until the end of the October half term, then 10:00am to 16:00pm daily. Give the team a call on 01933 779587 or please click here for more information.
There are cycle routes and walking trails which connect the shopping centre to the local towns, villages, and out in to the Nene Wetlands. For full details please download the map here.
Please be advised that there are diversions in place at present (which will include cyclists having to cycle over grass) and these diversions will remain in place until early 2018. To cycle or walk to Rushden Lakes from Stanwick Lakes, people can access the trail to the side of Next. This will enable people to join the old Railway Line route, and reach Stanwick lakes on foot or cycle.
Canoe2 have opened their new Boathouse here at Rushden Lakes. Visit their website to see how you can get out onto the water and explore the Nene waterways. Please click here for more information.
